The office team are there to assist with any enquiry you have, be it a new opportunity, an ongoing enquiry, a “Can you cover this load” or a simple “What time is my load due in?” call. Rod and John cover nights in the office with Ken there at weekends, so there is always someone at the end of the phone.

Steven Dixon, Managing Director

After graduating as an Electronic Engineer, Steve joined the business full time in 1990, taking his LGV1 and ‘Hazchem licence’ (Old ADR). After learning the ropes he moved into Operations, then became M.D. when Dennis retired in 1998.

When not at work Steve loves his annual ski holiday, but most weekends he enjoys riding downhill on his bikes, but has to suffer the uphill slog as Cleveland hills have not yet installed a chair lift. If I am lucky my son accompanies me on either activity if he is not working.  "Most weekends involve some mountain biking, road biking, time with my lovely wife and visiting our daughter in her last year of university".

Andy Briggs - Dennis Dixon

Andy Briggs, Operations Manager

Andy first came to DDL on secondment from Hoyer when they bought a 30% share in 1998. He joined as a DDL employee in 2012 to focus on driver recruitment, training and welfare, and SHEQ. Originally from Huddersfield, Andy gained a Master of Sciences from Hull University (sounds good, doesn’t it; it was in Geography, so if you want anything colouring in then Andy’s your man), where he also consolidated his football and snooker “skills”. Still busy with his primary age children, and not expecting that to change any time soon, Andy will happily hack round a golf course whenever he gets the chance.

Karen Winter, Accounts

"I started work for Dennis Dixon Ltd as an Accounts Assistant to Steven in May 1993, I deal with the day to day running of the Accounts and Admin in whatever capacity necessary. Staff think of me as a Rottweiler because I won’t tolerate tardiness but I am more of a kitten really, I like things done properly and on time.

Away from work I run a ladies darts league, play the Saxophone, passing my grade 3 exam recently, enjoy football home and away and looking after my 6 granddaughters (soon to be 7), I also enjoy going on holiday with my hubby for a bit of 'us time'."

October 2019 saw me go part time so you will catch me at work Tue-Wed-Thu only.

Mark Dixon

"I worked for a Teesside based Tanker company for five years until 1987, mainly in the Workshops. I was the first employee at the newly founded Dennis Dixon Ltd, working night shifts in the office.

I took my HGV & Hazchem licence and then did 12 years driving, delivering a variety of products for our customers. In 2000 I moved back in to the Traffic Office and gained my CPC for Road Transport in 2006.

In my down time I enjoy walking Daisy, our Cavalier King Charles, and rescuing her from my cat, Sox. I also like looking after my vegetable plot and swimming."

David - Dennis Dixon Ltd

Dave Bowker

After completing my A/S levels in English, Geography and Maths, I came to Dennis Dixon Ltd on a Youth Training Scheme in 1997.

After a year of “training” with my peers, Dennis Dixon Ltd employed me on a full-time basis in September 1998.

The company have put me through various courses, including my 1st Aid at work, and I passed my CPC for Road Transport in 2006. In my spare time I like to go for walks with friends, and I attend spinning classes 2-3 times a week. I’m also a big fan of football and can often be seen sulking on a Monday morning after my football team, Arsenal, lose.

Martin Hoehne

Martin spent from 1999 to 2014 working in the parcel delivery industry, firstly for Target Worldwide Express and then CityLink following a buyout.

In his time in parcels he covered a number of job roles ranging from warehouse operative through to Depot Operations Manager in various locations around the country. Following redundancy, he joined Dennis Dixon Ltd in May 2015 and is relatively new to the industry.

Martin's spare time is taken up with going to see bands, walking the occasional fell but mostly entertaining (or being entertained by) his two young children and two crazy spaniels - enough to keep anyone busy!

Dan Worsley

I joined Dennis Dixon Ltd back in May 2015 having worked in transport since 2010 when I left school (yes, I’m young). I started part-time washing trucks and doing curtain repairs on tautliners, then eventually decided to make a move into the transport office. After experiencing many different types of transport including refrigerated transport for supermarkets I decided the next logical step would be onto tankers, and it's great fun! Transport Planner by day, Powerlifter by night. I train religiously as I am on the Great British Powerlifting Team. I have represented GB many times at European & World Championships. In 2016 I was British & European Champion in the <83kg category.  I am always looking to add to my success but it’s never easy!
