Driving vacancies at Dennis Dixon Ltd
Dennis Dixon Ltd are always happy to receive applications from candidates interested in LGV1 bulk liquid chemical Tanker Driver positions.
It is normal that new starters would work on a shift pattern, typically either;
6+2: 6 shifts of work followed by 2 shifts of rest.
5+3: 5 shifts of work followed by 3 shifts of rest (overtime possibilities exist).
4+4: 4 shifts of work followed by 4 shifts of rest (overtime possibilities exist).
As new drivers start, shift drivers have the option to move to Mon-Fri working (with optional weekend overtime) when the opportunity arises.
Work will include nights away from home, usually 1-3 per shift rotation (though nighting-out on each night of the pattern,or not at all, may occur depending upon work profile at the time).
A minimum of 2 years LGV1 experience is expected (unless the applicant can demonstrate alternative, relevant experience) together with a current ADR licence (not including classes 1 & 7). Full job-based training will be given to new starters and annual refresher training is undertaken for all drivers.
Basic salary is in excess of £30,000 for 6+2 shift drivers, plus tax free allowances.
Bonuses are paid to all drivers where targets are met for incident-free and absence-free performance, plus for sympathetic vehicle management combined with a fuel efficient driving style (as supported by vehicle telemetry – training will be given as part of the induction process). Also payment of approx. £440 meal money (tax-free) + nights-out (paid tax-free in line with current legislation). We also operate a defined benefit company pension scheme for all employees fully compliant with government legislation.
